Those who've been paying attention to the site may have noticed that we performed a hard ratings reset and started our manhunt preseason to test changes. These changes can be found in in our elo explanation. For those not interested in reading the math, here's a summary:
1. The highest value a score can be adjusted by is now lowered from 20 to 15 once a player hits a rating of 1200. This marks so-called "high elo" for us.
2. The score difference between the winning and losing team relative to the average score of the two teams now plays a role in ratings adjustment. This means that stomps are now more influential than close games.
3. Team elo ratings now tend to players whose ratings are significantly different from the opposing team's average. With this, teams of two average to high elo players and one low elo player are considered significantly less likely to win against teams with three average elo players.
In addition to these changes, we've also set up ratings history, which can be found on each player's profile under "MMR History". As of now, only the previous season's final rating is visible and this will remain the case until the new season starts, as we will not be tracking the preseason under this tab.
More information on Season 2 will be released during the Season 1 Manhunt Playoffs on November 16th.
